Portsmouth Aviation has supplied over a million practice bombs to both the UK Ministry of Defence and International Customers. The company is the Design Organisation for the MOD for the 3kg and the 14kg Practice Bombs, which have been in-service for over 15 years.

Suitable for use on land and at sea these practice bombs are of the smoke and flash type that enable spotting to be achieved by both day and night. The major change in practice bomb design has been in matching the forward throw (the distance from release to impact) of the practice bomb to that of the operational weapon. This forward throw matching allows aircrew to closely follow operational flight profiles during training sorties.
