Weapon Handling - Depth Charge Trolleys

The Depth Charge Trolley No 1 Mk 1, designed and developed by PA, provides a strong, lightweight highly manoeuvrable stowage and handling unit for a Mark 11 Mod 2 or Mod 3 depth charge, with or without a tail fitted.

The depth charge trolley is used on HM ships to transport a depth charge from the point of embarkation to the stowage magazine, the test and assembly magazine, the weapon park and to the aircraft on the flight deck.

Capable of being manoeuvred by one man, the depth charge trolley has the following safety features:

  • Dead man’s breaking system
  • Castor wheel steering for precise, tight manoeuvring
  • Capable of remaining stationary on a 23° slope, with brakes and locks applied
  • Welded restraint points for securing in a heavy sea
  • 28 day upper deck stowage capability
