Weapon Handiling - Torpedo Trolleys

The Torpedo Trolley No 4 Mk 2 is in Service with the Royal Navy and was designed to meet the requirement for a simple, low cost, transit and loading trolley for lightweight aerial torpedoes.

The trolley is used on ships to transport a single lightweight torpedo between the embarkation point, stowage magazine, test and assembly magazine, weapon park and an aircraft on the flight deck. It is also used on Naval Air Stations.

All the variants of a Mk 44, Mk 46 and Sting Ray torpedoes complete with parachute, suspension fittings and a nose cap can be carried and they may face in either direction on the trolley, being supported on four rubber rollers and secured by two straps.
