PA are pleased to announce that they were the recent recipients of the BAES Chairman’s Bronze and Silver Awards for the Enhancing Customer Performance
For Harrier there were three categories; Innovation, Transferring Best Practice and Enhancing Customer Performance.
The Harrier programme involved the Design, Development and Test Qualification of a new variant of the EPW2(UK), which allowed for the inclusion of the latest ECCG as utilised in PWIV on to the existing UK 1000lb System in the EPW2(UK) configuration creating the EPW2+(UK).
The objectives were to verify that the EPW2+ weapon interfaces correctly with the Harrier GR9/9A and conduct an end-to-end demonstration of the capability of the EPW2+ weapon when released from a Harrier GR9/9A.
As PWIV was not available for Operations the Task was raised to give GR9/9A ‘through cloud’ capability.
